Притяжательные местоимения в английском языке имеют две формы. С первой формой, такими словами, как my, her, his и так далее, мы знакомы, наверное, как только начинаем учить английский язык. Но зачем нужна вторая форма и чем она отличается от первой мы сейчас рассмотрим.
I форма притяжательных местоимений употребляется только с именами существительными. II форма употребляется самостоятельно, без существительных или после существительных.
It is my thought. The thought is mine. It is mine. – Это моя мысль. Эта мысль моя.
I thought about our party. The party of ours is exiting. The idea is ours. – Я думал про нашу вечеринку. Наша вечеринка замечательная. Эта идея – наша.
This is her desk. This desk is hers. That desk is yours. – Это ее парта. Эта парта ее. Та парта – твоя.
