Дорогие ученики! В английском языке немало понятий, трудных для изучения, но английские артикли представляют собой особую сложность. Подумать только! Какая-то малявка – артикль! Но ее нужно поставить в нужное место и нужного вида – определенный или неопределенный. А также существует и нулевой артикль! Более того, это надо уметь делать сходу – ведь мы стремимся заговорить на иностранном языке! Итак, английские артикли, вспоминаем пройденный ранее материал и добавляем новый.

Текст. LOTUS LAND. PART 1.
On the Earth there is a Lotus Land. Everything is shiny and tiny there. The dew droplets sparkle on the midget flowerets… Light cloudlets sparkle with rain driblets in the sky-blue. Между прочим, соблюдаете ли вы золотое правило Натальи Станиславовны? Кстати, в чем оно заключается? Да, правильно! Мы не можем перевернуть страницу и перейти к следующему тексту или упражнению, если нам не известно хотя бы одно слово. То есть мы должны быть строгими к самим себе и сами себя контролировать. Поскольку без слов, без конкретного их значения, разговаривать нельзя, то мы знакомимся с каждым словом отдельно. Ведь знание английского языка нужно только нам.
Вспоминаем про английские артикли.
1. Если мы даём определение какому-то понятию, то употребляем неопределённый артикль. То есть мы говорим о предмете впервые.
Winter is a cold season.
Но! Moscow is the capital of our country.
Столица – это единственное в своём роде понятие. А также глобальные понятия употребляются с определённым артиклем.
The Moon the Earth the Internet the country-side
The sun the weather the world but: in City, in town, abroad
Если мы даём определение какому-то понятию, но имеется поясняющая часть предложения, используем определённый артикль:
The Earth is a planet. But! The Earth is the planet that has different forms of living.
2. Перед названием профессии в единственном числе используем неопределенный артикль.
He is a police-officer by profession.
She wants to be an economist.
3. После have (got), если предмет исчисляемый и не стоит во множественном числе, употребляем неопределённый артикль. Действительно, ведь мы упоминаем о нём впервые.
I have got a hedgehog.
4. Стороны и части света всегда определенны артиклем.
On the right – направо on the North – на севере
On the left – налево on the South – на юге
In the middle – в середине on the West – на западе
On the edge – на краю on the East – на востоке
5. Оборот there is вводит предмет в единственном числе. Если он исчисляемый, то необходим неопределённый артикль. Но местоположение всегда определено!
There is a snow-flake on the nose.
There is a lair under the snow-bank. Но – there is snow everywhere.
Английские артикли и еда.
6. Если мы разговариваем про еду, перед названиями приёмов пищи, артиклей нет.
For supper – на ужин before supper – перед ужином
After breakfast (dinner, supper) – после завтрака (обеда, ужина)
Instead of breakfast (dinner, supper) – вместо завтрака (обеда, ужина)
But! We have had a tight / light dinner today. – Мы сегодня плотно / легко пообедали (имеется определяющее слово). Если появляется определяющее слово, появляется и неопределённый артикль. А также проанализируйте аналогию со следующими частными случаями:

| We had time while going sightseeing. – Мы провели время, осматривая достопримечательности. The sun was high up in the turquoise sky. – Солнце стояло высоко в лазурном небе. (Глобальное понятие.) We noticed the moon in the gloomy clouds. – Мы заметили луну в мрачных облаках. The family spent May in the village. – Семья провела май в деревне (перед названиями месяцев артиклей нет). As for me, I relish summer. – Что касается меня, то я обожаю лето. | We had an excellent time at the seaside. – Мы провели прекрасно время на морском побережье. The boy drew a sun in the album. – Мальчик нарисовал солнце в альбоме (какое-то). There was a pale moon in the horizon. – На горизонте была бледная луна (разноликость луны). They enjoyed a warm May in the country-side. – Они насладились тёплым маем в сельской местности. It was a sultry summer. – Это было знойное лето. |
Английские артикли. Превосходная степень.
7. Превосходная степень всегда с определённым артиклем (если нет притяжательного местоимения).
This day is the chilliest day this winter. – То есть если предмет самый-самый, он такой уникальный, единственный в своем роде, и это нужно подчеркнуть артиклем.
The little bear is the sincerest friend in the world.
8. Перед названиями животных, как представителей какого-то вида, если это единственное число напишем или проговорим определённый артикль. Но во множественном числе, когда мы имеем ввиду животных вообще, артикли не употребляются.
The hedgehog is a lovely and kind animal.
Hedgehogs don’t really carry mushrooms on the back.
9. А также перед названиями праздников артиклей нет.
Do you enjoy celebrating New Year? – Тебе нравится праздновать Новый Год?
When do people celebrate Easter? – Когда люди отмечают Пасху?
10. Когда мы ищем предмет, он всегда определён:
Where is the boot? – It is on the shelf. – Где ботинок? Он на полке.
Where are the pens? – They are in the school-bag. – Где ручки? Они в портфеле.
11. An apple a day keeps a doctor away! – То есть мы не употребляем предлога, который звучит в русском языке! И не забываем про неопределенный артикль.
Time, чаще times – имеет значение «раз», «разы»
Two times a day – два раза в день
Three times a day – три раза в день
Three times a week – три раза в неделю
Four times a year – четыре раза в год
Two times a year = twice [twais] a year – дважды в год
Once a year – раз в году
An apple a day – яблоко в день
