Glad to meet you! We are pupils of the fifth form! We are together in the same class but we are different. Dima is fond of sports. Masha likes to learn something new. Oh, she is all-the-know! But she is brainy and knows different interesting things.
Paulina is fond of fairy-tales. Anya always thinks about new dresses. This girl is very dressy. Tanya wants to cook different dishes. She is fond of cooking.
Petya likes to count. He is always right at Maths. Katya is good at tongue-twisters. Her favourite tongue-twister is: “Don’t trouble trouble until trouble troubles you! It only doubles trouble and troubles others, too!”
Vasya is fond of apples, apples, crunchy and all-coloured apples. He champs with apples and give them to us. Whose hobby is strange for you?
And what do you think about book-carving? Passionate about this hobby, people cut out real plots from thick volumes of books: buildings, natural [ˈnæʧrəl] phenomena, scenes [siːnz] at home or at work. This is a very painstaking activity [ækˈtɪvɪtɪ], in which a lot of imagination is challenged.

Turning dogs into other animals is another Interesting hobby. Dogs are given haircuts and painted so that they look like dragons, giraffes, elephants, cartoon heroes [ˈhɪərəʊ] and other unusual characters [ˈkærəktəz]. In Pennsylvania [pensɪlˈveɪnɪə], competitions are held where the jury [ˈʤʊərɪ] estimates the creativity of fans of this hobby.
And how about riding a bike in the bog? Imagine you riding a bike along the tunnel [tʌnl] filled with dirty and stinky water and with a pipe in the mouth to breathe.
Some people are fond of building houses from playing cards. Such buildings can fall down at any moment if you suddenly touch them. This hobby is also painstaking, for patient and hardworking people who aren’t sorry for their hard and long work.
And at last, riding on the toy horses! These horses are only sticks with horses’ heads. The fans of the hobby take part in joyful competitions where jury estimates how the horse-riders sit on the toy-horse, how high they jump up and how fast they run.
And who is fond of music? Who is good at the Internet? Everybody has got different hobbies. But they are special to us. We want to have a day of self-government and tell you about our hobbies.
