Как сказать – хотел бы я в английском? На сегодняшнем занятии мы рассмотрим тему – нереальные условия, то есть Conditionals, если пользоваться лексикой английского языка. Между прочим, смотрите предыдущий урок – условные предложения в будущем времени. Но в начале урока мы, как всегда, читаем тест. На этот раз мы познакомимся с бездомным щенком Spotty-Shorty, который всегда оставался жизнерадостным не смотря на невзгоды, потому он и нашел верного друга.

Хотел бы я в английском. CONDITIONALS. IF I WERE PRESIDENT!
If I were President, I would pass this law! – Artyem stated.
Если бы я был Президентом, я бы издал такой закон! – заявил Артём.
Когда мы говорим: «если бы я сделал так, то…», мы сожалеем о чём-то в настоящем. То есть мы говорим, что это нереально для настоящего. В английском языке для выражения нереальности используется Past Simple. Should, как вариант, может тоже употребляться после первого лица: I and we. Но такая форма чаще встречается в литературе и периодических изданиях. Прочтите и проанализируйте следующие примеры:
В условной части предложения, если вы видите, стоит глагол в прошедшем времени. В основной части предложения появляется известный уже нам глагол would (should).
А также вы обратили внимание, что после местоимения I идёт глагол were?
Чтобы подчеркнуть нереальность желаемого, глагол to be в нереальных условиях всегда будет were.
Oh, if the weather were fine! – Если бы погода была хорошей! If the teachers were kind! – Если бы учителя были добрыми! If this verb were regular! – Если бы этот глагол был правильный!
Упражнения – I.
We are working at Conditionals.
1. If there (to be) the sun in the sky, it (to be) merrier.
2. If Father Frost (to make) the weather crimpy, we (to believe) in him.
3. If Father Frost (to be) decrepit, we (not to see) a miracle.
4. If the teacher (not to give) Artyem to write a composition about winter, Artyem (not to become) President.
5. If Father Frost (not to substitute) inks, they (not to mix themselves up).
6. If Artyem (to write) a composition about winter in lightsome colours earlier, he (to pick up) common mood earlier.
7. If Artyem (to confuse), he (not to become) President.
8. If pupils (to add) only ed- ending, it (to be) boring and dull.
9. If it (to be) boring and dull, everybody (to yawn) aloud.
10. If irregular verbs (can to turn) into regular verbs, everybody (to cope) with the English Grammar easier.

We are working at Conditionals using only irregular forms if there are regular ones too.
1. If the sun (to burn) away the dark in the winter mornings, we (to get up) easier.
2. If we (to get up) easier, the day (to pass by) merrier.
3. If the sun (to light) the tops of the trees every day, winter (to be) sunny and holiday.
4. If lily-white snowbanks (to be) everywhere, people (to skate and to ski).
5. If light-hearted wind (to blow), the weather (to be) pleasant.
6. If snow-flakes (to leap and to shine) in the sun-light, people (to admire) nature.
7. If icicles (to hang) from the show-capped roofs, they (to sparkle) in the sun.
8. If winter (to abide) to tradition to be snowy and nippy, people (to be) happy.
9. If children (to learn) only what they wish, they (to come) to school willingly.
10. If we (to dream) about crimpy weather all together, Father Frost (to fulfil) our common wish.

As for the current events, I am hoping for the on-coming New Year. We have already bought and set up the fir-tree. At the last weekends we trimmed our flat. The fire-works are already ready – I adore setting them off during the whole holidays. At last, we are allowed to have a rest from school – the studies have bored me to death, to tell you the truth! I am going to walk all days long and play computer games at time, free from walking. And what about you? What are your plans for the New Year’s holidays? How do you prepare for this festival? What present would you like to get this year?
