1. Any – в утвердительных предложениях имеет значение «любой».

For reaching his goal he used any means and tools.

2. Some – в вопросительно построенных предложениях:

Would you like some coffee? – Предлагаем, а не спрашиваем (в кафе, за столом).

Shall I open the window? – Предлагаем услугу, помощь, а не спрашиваем.
