The sun was shining all day long and lightening the world beneath with its warm sunbeams. The sunbeams were sending their sunny bunnies everywhere. How jaunty the summer day was! The day was long and even endless. But it’s time the sun went down! The last sunbeams were sinking into the horizon and calling the sunny bunnies to tumble in. But one frolic sunny bunny spotted a lovely house in the lovely bloomy garden and thought:

— What a nice house to stay at for a night! Nothing wrong will happen if I spend only one night in here!

— It would be great to play with her!

But the girl had already slept. A little upset Sunny Bunny decided to wait for the girl and play by himself. The sun was still sitting down and lightening the room. Sunny Bunny swung on the curtains, swung on the chandelier, studied all pictures on the walls, played calmly on the keys of the piano and splashed in the cup with the warm tea and lemon.

And he flew inside through the glass of the window. You know, any sunny bunny can do it! In the house there were lovely curtains and lovely pot-plants on the windowsills. In the lovely bed Sunny Bunny spotted a lovely girl.

At last, the sunrays almost hid behind the horizon and Sunny Bunny felt that he got chilled. He jumped onto the wall of the stove. But it was cold: everybody knows that in summer hosts don’t use stoves. He began to be afraid: he will be cold, too! At this moment he looked at the girl: the last sunbeam war vanishing on her cheeks and they were rosy and hot. The girl was ill and she had a fever. Sunny Bunny hopped onto her cheek and, getting warm, fell asleep.

In the morning the sun was getting up and looking for the frolic Sunny Bunny.

— Where are you, Sunny Bunny? Maybe, you have got chilled and died?

The dew droplets were thrilling on the wind with their sparklets and saying vying:

— The Lost Sunny Bunny isn’t here! Look for him farther!

The sun was getting up higher and higher. And as soon as it touched the girl’s cheeks, Sunny Bunny opened his eyes, smiled from ear to ear and gaily ran up along the warm sunbeam to meet another sunny day! The little girl woke up, stretched herself and called aloud:

— Mummy! I have got well!
